Three Scholarships Awarded

Mike Malone Scholarship

The Mike Malone Service Above Self Scholarship is a $2000 award, $500 per year for 4 years. The Waupaca School District scholarship committee selects a student to receive this scholarship based on the Rotary Service Above Self criteria – community service, leadership and citizenship. The Award is announced at the senior student recognition assembly and the award certificate and check are given to the recipient at the Annual Dinner of the Rotary Club of Waupaca.

Gene Wasserberg Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is a $1000 award given in memory of Gene Wasserberg, former Rotary Club of Waupaca President and member whose creativity, energy and generosity had a wonderful and positive impact on our club and community.The Gene Wasserberg Memorial Scholarship is rewarded to a Waupaca High School graduate who is pursuing an Engineering, Business or Entrepreneurial curriculum. The scholarship is available to students planning to attend a 2- or 4-year program. Priority will be given to students who have been accepted to Wisconsin state colleges and universities, and students who have participated in community service.

Technical College Scholarships

Each year, RCW awards up to four $500 scholarships to help students pay tuition to a Technical College.  The school selects the scholarship recipients, and club presents the award certificate and check.

Applying for Scholarships

The Rotary Club of Waupaca relies on the educational institutions to administer the scholarship recipient selections and to coordinate the process with other scholarship programs that may be available.
