Protecting the Environment
WORKING WITH OTHERS TO PROTECT AND IMPROVE OUR ENVIRONMENT
The Rotary Club of Waupaca established an Environment Committee in 2020, and moved quickly to identify and complete several projects, including:
-
- Replaced the roof on a historic Ice Age Trail cabin
- In Rotary Riverview Park, we’ve planted two trees, placed a park bench in honor of former club president Gene Wasserberg, and annually mulch beds and plant flowers
- Adopting a stretch of highway to help maintain (Hwy 22, south of US 10)
- Working with local school districts on School Forest and Prairie projects
Projects to protect the environment often create hands-on work opportunities for club members and others in the community.
